LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 138 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number to 53,865 cases.

But out of the 53,865 all time cases,  41,513  patients have recovered,  while 1,013  others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 11, 339 Coronavirus patients.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Plateau-55, Lagos-15, Ebonyi-11, Oyo-11, Abia-8, Anambra-7, FCT-7, Rivers-7, Kaduna-6, Ondo-5, Kwara-3,  Bauchi-1, Benue-1 and Edo-1, making a total of 138 new cases of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, a new landmark has been reached globally with confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic crossing the 25 million mark. Specifically, there are currently  25, 096,636 cases worldwide,  844, 118 deaths, while 16, 486, 194 patients have recovered, based on current statistics released by the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States maintains the lead  among the most afflicted countries, reporting 5, 990, 965  confirmed cases, 183, 005 deaths since the first cases was reported while 2, 140, 614 others have recovered, leaving the U.S with 3, 667, 346  patients on medication hoping to survive the pandemic(39,918 new cases), followed by   Brazil with 3, 846,153 all time cases,  120, 462 deaths, while 3, 202, 185 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Brazil with 523, 506 patients in hospital praying to survive the pandemic(41, 350 new cases), and then India  with 3, 542, 733 confirmed cases of the pandemic,  63, 498 deaths, while 2, 713, 933 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving India with 765, 302 Coronavirus patients(78, 761 new cases).

Russia is next with 987, 470 confirmed cases, 17, 045 deaths and 804, 941 recoveries, leaving Russia with 165, 484 patients to treat for the pandemic, followed by  Peru with 639,435 all time cases, 28, 607 deaths, while 446,675 patients have been discharged, leaving Peru with 164, 153 patients struggling to stay alive(9, 474 new cases), followed by South Africa which has confirmed  625, 056  all time cases, 14, 028 deaths, while 538, 604 others  have been given clean bill of health, leaving South Africa with 72, 424 patients to cater for(4, 924 new cases).

Colombia is next with 599, 884 confirmed cases, 19,063 deaths while 440, 562 others have been cured, leaving Colombia with 140, 259 Coronavirus patients(9, 392 new cases) followed by  Mexico, which has reported 591, 712 confirmed cases,   63, 819 deaths, 484, 283 recoveries, leaving Mexico with 43, 610 patients praying to survive the pandemic(5, 974 new cases) and then Spain with 439,286 all time cases, 29,011 deaths while 150, 376 people have been discharged, leaving Spain with 259, 899 patients in need of medical attention.

Chile is next  with  409, 974  all time cases,  11, 244 deaths, while 382,584 others are now in good health, leaving Chile with 16, 146 patients to treat for the pandemic(1, 965 new cases), followed by Argentina, which has confirmed  401, 239 cases of Coronavirus, 8, 401 deaths and  294,007 recoveries, leaving Argentina with 98, 831 patients hoping to  get back on their feet(9, 230 new cases) and  Iran with 373, 570 confirmed cases, 21, 462 deaths, while  321, 421 others  have recovered, leaving Iran with   30, 687 patients  in need of medical attention (1, 754 new cases).

The United Kingdom, which has suffered the highest casualty in Europe with the highest active cases and lowest rate of recoveries among peers has documented 336, 641 all time cases, 41, 586 deaths, while  only 1, 624 patients have recovered since the first cases was reported in the whole of U.K, leaving the state with 293, 431 active cases of the pandemic(1, 726 new cases), followed by France in the 14th spot in the league of most afflicted countries. France has documented  315, 813 confirmed cases, 30, 611 deaths, while  86, 495 patients have been discharged, leaving France with 198, 707 Coronavirus patients(10, 866 new cases), followed by Italy(19)  in the league with 268, 218 confirmed cases, 35, 477 deaths while 208, 536 patients  have been given clean bill of health, leaving Italy with 24, 205 patients still in need of medical attention and then China where the first case was reported(1, 365 new cases).

China now pushed to the 34th spot  has reported 89, 878  all time cases,  4, 722 deaths, while 84, 523 others have been discharged, leaving China with only 633 active cases of Coronavirus.
