LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 453 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total cases to 47,743.#coroanvirusinnigeria

Out of the 47, 743 confirmed cases, 33,943 patients have been discharged, while 956 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 12, 844 active cases of Coronavirus.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-113,  Abuja-72, Plateau-59, Enugu-55, Kaduna-38, Ondo-32, Osun-26, Ebonyi-20, Ogun-9, Delta-8, Borno-7, Akwa Ibom-6, Oyo-5, Bauchi-1, Kano-1 and Ekiti-1, making a total of 453 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

Globally, there are now 20, 452, 313 confirmed cases, 745,530 deaths, while 12, 640, 013 others have recovered, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland has reported.

According to the centre, the United States  remains number one among the most affected countries, reporting 5,  187, 611 confirmed cases, 165, 831 deaths, while 1, 714, 960 others have recovered, leaving the U.S with 3, 306, 820 active cases of the pandemic(56, 827 new cases and 1, 228 deaths in the last 24 hours), followed by Brazil with 3, 109,  630 confirmations,  103, 026 deaths, while 2, 450, 664 patients have recovered, leaving Brazil  with 555, 940 active cases(52, 160 new cases and 1,274 deaths in the last 24 hours), followed by India, which has documented 2, 329, 638 cases, 46,091 deaths, while  1, 639, 599 others have recovered, leaving India with 643, 948 active cases of Coronavirus(60, 963 new cases and 834 deaths in the last 24 hours)#coronavirusinindia.

Russia, which is 4^th in the league of most affected countries has documented 900, 745 confirmations, 15, 231 deaths, while 708,900 patients have been able to recover, leaving Russia with 176, 614 active cases, followed by South Africa, 5^th in the league, which 568, 919 confirmed cases, 11, 010 deaths, while 432, 029 patients have recovered leaving South Africa with 125, 880 active cases(2, 810 new cases and 259 deaths in the last 24 hours) , followed by Mexico with 492, 522 confirmed cases, 53, 929 deaths, while 397, 278 patients have recovered, leaving Mexico with 41, 315 active cases of the pandemic, followed by Peru(7) with  489, 680 cases, 21, 501 deaths, while 329,404 patients have been able to recover, leaving Peru with 138, 775 active cases of the pandemic.

Colombia which is 8^th in the league has documented 410,453 cases, 13, 475 deaths, while 230, 427 others have recovered, leaving Colombia with 166, 551 active cases of the virus, followed by Chile (9) with 378, 168 confirmed cases, 10, 205 deaths, while 351, 419 patients have been discharged, leaving Chile with 16, 544 active cases of Coronavirus, followed by Iran in number 10 in the rank. Iran has confirmed 333, 699 cases, 18, 988 deaths, while 290,244 others have recovered, leaving Iran with   24, 467 active cases of the pandemic.

Following closely is Spain(11) in the rank with 329, 784 confirmations,  28, 579 deaths while 150, 376 patients have been discharged, leaving Spain with 150, 829 active cases(3, 172 new cases in the last 24 hours), followed by the United Kingdom(12), which has reported 315, 564 cases, 46,791 deaths, while only 1, 465 patients have been able to recover, leaving  the U.K with 267, 308 active cases of the pandemic(2, 170 new cases, 180 deaths in the last 24 hours)   and Italy in the 17^th spot with 251, 713 confirmed cases,  35, 225 deaths, while 202,697 patients have been discharged, leaving Italy with 113, 791 active cases of the virus( 476 new cases and 10 deaths in the last 24 hours)  and France(19) in the league with 244, 061 cases, 30, 375 deaths, while 83, 607 patients have recovered, leaving France with 130, 079 active cases of the virus(4, 706 new cases, 48 deaths in the last 24 hours) and then China, where the pandemic was first reported.

China, pushed to number 28^th in the rank has documented  89, 020 cases, 4,697 deaths, while 82, 440 patients have been discharged, leaving China with 1,883 active cases of #Coronavirus.
