LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), has confirmed 443 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing the total confirmed cases to 45,687.
Out of the 45, 687 confirmed cases, 32,637 patients have been discharged, while 936 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 12, 114 active cases of the pandemic.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Plateau-103, Lagos-70, Abuja-60, Ondo-35, Edo-27, Rivers-27, Kaduna-20, Osun-19, Borno-18, Oyo-18, Kwara-11, Adamawa-9, Nasarawa-7, Gombe-6, Bayelsa-4, Imo-4, Bauchi-2, Ogun-2 and Kano-1, making a total of 443 new cases of the pandemic.

Meanwhile confirmed cases have reached a new peak worldwide, crossing over the 19 million mark. According to the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, there are currently 19, 189, 737 confirmed cases, 716, 669 deaths, while 11, 611, 029 others have recovered from the pandemic.

The United States still leads the league of most affected countries, reporting 4, 917, 050 cases, 160, 737 deaths, while 1, 598, 624 patients have recovered, leaving the U.S with 3, 157, 689 active cases of the pandemic(40, 260 new cases), followed by Brazil with 2, 912, 212 confirmed cases, 98, 493 deaths, while 2,250, 192 others have been able to recover, leaving Brazil with 563, 527 active cases, followed by India, which has documented 2, 027, 074 cases, 41, 585 deaths, while 1, 378, 105 others have been able to recover, leaving India with 607, 384 active cases of the pandemic(62, 538 new cases in the last 24 hours).
Russia is next with 875, 378 confirmed cases, 14, 698 deaths, while 682,278 others have been able to recover, leaving Russia with 178, 402 active cases of the pandemic, followed by South Africa(SA) in the 5th spot with 538, 184 confirmed cases, 9, 604 deaths, while 387, 316 others have recovered.
South Africa is left with 141, 264 active cases of the pandemic, followed by Mexico with 462, 690 confirmed cases, 50, 517 deaths, while 365, 311 others have recovered, leaving Mexico with 46, 862 active cases of the virus(6,590 new cases), followed by Peru with 455, 409 cases, 20, 424 deaths, while 310, 337 others have recovered, leaving Peru with 124, 648 active cases of the virus.
Chile(8) is next with 368, 825 confirmed cases, 9, 958 deaths, while 342, 168 patients have been able to recover, leaving Chile with 16, 699 active cases of the pandemic, followed by Colombia which has documented 357,710 cases, 11, 939 deaths while 192, 355 patients have recovered. Colombia is left with 153, 416 active cases of the pandemic, followed by Iran, which has reported 322,567 cases, 18, 132 deaths, while 279, 724 patients have been discharged, leaving Iran with 24, 711 active cases(2, 450 new cases in 24 hours), followed by Spain(11), which has reported 314,362 cases, 28, 503 deaths, while 150, 376 patients have been able to recover, leaving Spain with 135, 483 active cases of the Coronavirus pandemic(4, 507 new cases and 3 deaths in the last 24 hours).
The United Kingdom has been pushed to the 12th spot in the league of most affected countries, reporting 310, 667 cases, 46, 596 deaths, while only 1, 447 patients have recovered since cases were first reported in the United Kingdom, leaving the U.K with 262, 624 active cases of the pandemic(883 new cases, 98 deaths in the last 24 hours) and then Italy 16th in the ranks, reporting 249, 756 confirmed cases, 35, 190 deaths, while 201, 642 others have recovered, leaving Italy with 12, 924 active cases(552 new cases and 3 deaths in the last 24 hours) and then China where the virus was first reported.
China now 29 in the ranks of most affected countries has documented 88, 549 confirmed cases, 4, 680 deaths, while 81, 754 patients have recovered, leaving China with 2, 115 active cases of the virus.
