LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 386 new cases of Coronavirus – the lowest in a very long time, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 43,537.
Out of the 43,537 confirmed cases, 20,087 others have been discharged, while 883 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 22, 567 active cases of the pandemic.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows – Abuja -130, Lagos-65, Ondo-37, Osun-29, Plateau-23, Rivers-15, Enugu-14, Nasarawa-12, Bayelsa-11, Ebonyi-11, Ekiti-9, Oyo-8, Edo-8, Abia-6, Ogun-3, Katsina-3, Imo-1, Adamawa-1

Globally, there are 17, 703, 272 confirmed cases, 681, 580 deaths, while 10, 430,690 patients have recovered, the Centre for System Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland has said.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most affected worldwide, reporting 4, 608, 206 confirmed cases, 154, 145 deaths, while 1, 438,160 patients have recovered, leaving the U.S with 3,015 901 active cases, (65,586 cases in 24 hours), followed by Brazil with 2, 662, 485 confirmed cases, 92, 475 deaths, while 2,008,854 others have recovered, leaving Brazil with 561, 156 active cases of the pandemic(52, 283 cases in the last 24 hours).
India remains the third most affected country, reporting 1, 695, 988 confirmed cases, 36, 511 deaths, while 1,094, 374 others have recovered, leaving India with 565, 103 active cases of the pandemic(57, 151 new cases in 24 hours) , followed by Russia with 843, 890 confirmed cases, 14, 034 deaths, while 645, 316 others have recovered, leaving Russia with 184,540 active cases(5,429 new cases), followed by South Africa which has documented 503, 290 confirmed cases, 8,153 deaths, while 342, 461 others have been discharged, leaving South Africa with 152, 676 active cases(10,107 new cases), followed by Mexico with 424, 637 confirmed cases, 46, 688 deaths, while 327,115 others have recovered, leaving the state with 50, 834 active cases, followed by Peru, which has documented 407, 492 confirmed cases, 19,021 deaths, while 287,127 patients have recovered, leaving Peru with 101, 344 active cases of the virus.
Now in the 8th spot in the ranks of most affected countries, Chile has documented 357, 658 clear cases, 9, 533 deaths, while 330,507 others have recovered, leaving Chile with 17, 618 active cases, followed by Iran which has moved up by one spot.
Iran has authenticated 306, 752 cases, 16,982 deaths, while 265, 830 patients have recovered, leaving Iran with 23, 940 active cases of the pandemic (2,548 new cases).
The United Kingdom, now number 10 among most afflicted countries has documented 305, 572 cases, 46, 278 deaths, while only 1, 441 patients have recovered, leaving the U.K with 257, 853 active cases of the pandemic(779 new cases 74 deaths in 24 hours), followed by Columbia with 295, 508 confirmed cases, 10, 105 deaths, while 154,387 patients have been discharged, leaving Columbia with 131,016 active cases, followed by Spain in the 12th spot with 288, 522 confirmed cases, 28, 445 deaths, while 150, 376 patients have been discharged, leaving Spain with 109, 701 active cases.
Italy, where the pandemic was first recorded in Europe has reported 247, 832 cases, 35, 246 deaths, while 200, 229 patients have recovered, leaving Italy with 12, 357 active cases (285 new cases, 105 deaths in 24 hours) and then China where the pandemic was first reported.
China has reported 87,780 confirmed cases, 4,665 deaths, while 80,894 others have been discharged, leaving China( now 28th in the league of most affected countries) with 2, 221 active cases, up by 45 new cases.
