LAGOS, Nigeria -The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 462 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, making a total of 43,151 confirmed cases in the country.
Out of the 43, 151 confirmed cases, 19,565 patients have been discharged while 879 others could not survive the virus, leaving Nigeria with 22, 707 active cases of the pandemic.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows: Abuja-93, Lagos-78, Plateau-64, Kaduna-54, Oyo-47, Ondo-32, Adamawa-23, Bauchi-19, Rivers-9, Ogun-9, Delta-9, Edo-7, Kano-6, Enugu-6, Nasarawa-5, Osun-1, making a total of 462 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

There are currently 17, 422, 252 confirmed cases worldwide, 675,584 deaths, while 10, 207, 744 patients have recovered, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland has said.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted by the Coronavirus pandemic, reporting 4, 542, 620 confirmed cases, 152, 940 deaths, while 1, 414,155 others have been discharged, leaving the United States with 2, 975, 525 active cases(55,548 new cases in the last 24 hours), followed by Brazil with 2, 610, 102 confirmed cases, 91, 263 deaths, while 1, 964, 853 others have been discharged, leaving Brazil with 553, 986 active cases of the pandemic(No new case in the last 24 hours).

Next is India, the third most affected country, reporting 1, 638, 827 confirmed cases, 35, 745 deaths, while 1,057, 805 others have recovered, leaving India with 545, 277 active cases(56, 799 cases in the last 24 hours), followed by Russia, which has documented 838, 461 confirmed cases, 13, 939 deaths, while 637, 217 others have been discharged, leaving Russia with 187, 305 active cases of Coronavirus, followed by South Africa(SA) with 493, 183 confirmed cases, 8,005 deaths while 326, 171 others have recovered, leaving South Africa with 159,007 active cases of the pandemic(11,014 cases in the last 24 hours).
Mexico is next with 416, 179 confirmed cases, 46,000 deaths, while 320, 100 others have been able to recover, leaving Mexico with 50,079 active cases, followed by Peru with 400, 683 confirmed cases, 18, 816 deaths, while 283, 915 others been discharged. Peru is left with 97, 952 active cases, followed by Chile with 355, 667 confirmed cases, 9, 457 deaths, while 328,327 others have been discharged, leaving Chile with 17, 883 active cases, followed by the United Kingdom, which has documented 304, 793 confirmed cases, 46, 204 deaths, while only 1, 439 patients have recovered, leaving the U.K with 256, 561 active cases (883 new cases in the last 24 hours). Till date, the United Kingdom remains the only country in Europe with the highest casualty but lowest rate of recovery, no thanks to poor management of the pandemic in the U.K.
Iran, currently 10th in the league of most affected countries, has reported 304, 204 confirmed cases, 16, 766 deaths, while 263, 519 patients have recovered, leaving Iran with 23, 919 active cases followed closely by Spain, which has reported 288, 522 confirmed cases, 28, 445 deaths, while 150,376 others have recovered, leaving Spain with 109, 701 active cases of the pandemic(3,092 cases in the last 24 hours) and then Italy(15th spot) in the league of most affected countries, reporting 247, 537 confirmed cases, 35, 141 deaths, while 199,974 patients have been discharged, leaving Italy with 12, 422 active cases(379 new cases in the last 24 hours).
China currently occupies 27th spot in the league of most affected countries, reporting 87, 610 confirmed cases, 4, 661 deaths, while 80,773 patients have recovered in China, leaving the state with 2, 176 active cases, up by 135 cases.
