LAGOS, Nigeria- The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 476 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing all time cases to 50, 964.
But out of the 50, 964 confirmed cases, 37, 569 patients have been given clean bill of health, while 992 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 12, 403 cases in isolation centres across the country.
Breakdown of the 476 new cases is as follows, Lagos-235, Abuja-44, Kaduna-41, Borno-33, Plateau-28, Abia-13, Edo-13, Rivers-12, Imo-11, Oyo-10, Kano-9, Kwara-7, Enugu-5, Katsina-5, Gombe-4, Ogun-4, Nasarawa-1 and Zamfara-1.
“NCDC@NCDCgov 476 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-235, FCT-44, Kaduna-41, Borno-33, Plateau-28, Abia-13, Edo-13, Rivers-12, Imo-11, Oyo-10, Kano-9, Kwara-7, Enugu-5, Katsina-5, Gombe-4, Ogun-4, Nasarawa-1, Zamfara-1; 50,964 confirmed; 37,569 discharged; 992 deaths”, the NCDC said in a statement.
Globally, there are presently 22, 526, 192 all time cases, 790,262 deaths over time while 14, 387, 740 patients have been able to recover, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland has reported.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 5, 567,955 confirmed cases, since the first case was reported, 174, 104 accumulated deaths, while 1, 925, 049 patients have been discharged, leaving the United States with 3, 468, 802 patients in the hospital to treat for Coronavirus(44, 129 new cases); followed by Brazil with 3, 456, 652 all time cases of the pandemic, 111, 100 deaths over time, while 2, 801, 931 have been healed, leaving Brazil with 543, 621 patients to treat for Coronavirus(49, 298 new cases) and then India, which has documented 2, 836, 925 all time cases of the pandemic, 53, 866 accumulated deaths, while 2, 096, 664 patients have been healed, leaving India with 686, 395 patients in hospitals(69, 652 new cases).
Russia, which is 4th in the league of most affected countries, has reported 939, 833 accumulated cases, 16, 058 deaths over time, while 753, 868 patients have been discharged, leaving Russia with 169, 907 patients to cater for, followed by South Africa which has documented 599, 940 cases since the first case of Coronavirus was reported in South Africa, 12, 618 deaths over time, while 497, 169 patients have been able to overcome Coronavirus, leaving South Africa with 90, 153 patients to treat for the pandemic(3, 880 new cases).

Peru is 6th in the rank with 558, 920 all time cases, 26, 834 deaths over time, while 377, 453 patients have been healed, leaving Peru with 154, 633 patients to cater for; followed by Mexico with 537, 031 confirmed cases of the pandemic, 58, 481accumulated deaths, while 438, 375 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Mexico with 40, 175 patients.
Colombia is next with 502, 178 cases recorded over time, 15, 978 deaths since the first cases was recorded, while 326,298 patients have recovered, leaving Colombia with 159, 902 patients to treat for the pandemic, followed by Chile(9) in the league with 391, 849 cases of Coronavirus recorded over time, 10, 671 deaths, while 366, 063 patients have been able to overcome the ailment, leaving Chile with 15, 115 people still receiving treatment for the pandemic, followed by Spain with 377, 906 confirmed cases, 28, 813 accumulated deaths, while 150, 376 others are now healthy, leaving Spain with 198, 717 patients in the hospital(7,039 new cases), followed by Iran with 352, 558 all time cases, 20, 264 deaths, while 304, 236 patients have overcome the pandemic, leaving Iran with 28, 058 patients(2, 279 new cases).
The United Kingdom has been pushed to the 12 spot in the ranks of most affected countries, with 324, 196 cases over time, 41, 489 accumulated deaths, while only 1, 498 people have been able to recover from Coronavirus, leaving the United Kingdom with 280, 849 patients still battling to stay alive in the hospitals(1, 202 new cases) and then France in the 17th spot with 256, 534 all time cases, 30, 434 deaths over time, while 84, 214 others have recovered, leaving France with 141, 886 patients to cater for; followed by Italy with 256, 118 cases of Coronavirus since the first case was reported in Italy, 35, 418 deaths , while 204, 686 patients have been discharged, leaving Italy to battle with 16, 014 active cases of Coronavirus(840 new cases) and then China which has been pushed to the 32nd spot in the ranks of most affected countries.
China has documented 89, 549 all time cases of the pandemic, 4, 707 deaths over time while 83, 616 patients have recovered, leaving China with 1,226 patients to treat for Coronavirus.
