PORT HARCORT, Nigeria- Rivers State Governor, Mr. Nyesom Wike has sacked one of his Permanent Secretaries for flouting and obstructing enforcement of the guidelines put in place by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control to slow down the spread of Coronavirus.
The Permanent Secretary affected is Mr. Sunny Okere. He was sacked with immediate effect for flouting and obstructing the enforcement of the guidelines.
“This would serve as a lesson to all other public officers who may wish to be irresponsible”, Nyesom Wike said on twitter.

Among the guidelines put in place by the NCDC include observing physical distancing, wearing of a face mask and washing your hands frequently with soap and water or hand sanitiser.
