ABUJA, Nigeria- The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has called for prayers following reports that Governor of Ebonyi State, Mr. David Umahi, his aides and wife of Benue State Governor, Mrs. Samuel Ortom have tested positive to the Coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement by Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Kola Ologbodiyan, the party described the spread of the pandemic across Nigeria as rather disturbing.
PDP called on Nigerians not to succumb to fear but to be vigilant and adhere to personal hygiene and preventive measures, social and physical distancing and early reporting of symptoms to the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.
The party called on Nigerians to remain conscious of the reality of COVID-19, with the easing of restrictions.
The party called on government to intensify efforts on awareness campaign and provide economic stimulus to minimize social exposure and vulnerability of Nigerians in their various areas of endeavors.
