ENUGU, Nigeria – At 10, Nneoma Nnadi has seen the worst of atrocity. A six inches nail has allegedly been driven into her tender skull, her private parts laced with hot pepper and her skin, both front and back seared with hot pressing iron.
It is perhaps poverty and the search for a means of livelihood that paid her this bad at this tender age. Her mother is a widow in Aku, Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State, barely struggling to feed.
Nneoma Nnadi allegedly works with Mrs. Ifeoma Ezia as a house help. Ifeoma Ezia is also from Aku, but currently lives in Udi after her marriage with the little girl, Nneoma.
But what offence did poor Neoma commit to merit such backstabbing and ill treatment that is even undeserving of criminals.
According to a source, Nneoma was carrying Ifeoma’s baby who happened to be very sick around 12 midnight of July 2 and slept off as a result of fatigue and the baby fell off her hands.
The baby concerned suffered neither physical nor internal injury, but to cry probably due to the shock of falling down.
“What Mrs ifeoma did was to use hot iron to design her skin and also used big nail to puncture her head. She was instructed to wash plates on 2nd of July and because she was feeling so much pains, she couldn’t wash the plate as quickly as she was instructed and Mrs. Ifeoma subjected her to some strokes of the cane and unleashed horror of this magnitude on the girl.
“Despite the scars and sores all over her body, grinded pepper was inserted into her vagina and then locked up in the toilet, it was a neighbor that heard the girl screaming that rushed into their apartment and rushed the girl to the hospital”, we were told by eye witness.

We gathered that little Nneoma Nnadi is battling for life at Parklane Hospital, Enugu on the last floor at the maternity ward.
Already, all her body is swollen beyond recognition and it seems death is just hours away. We also gathered that the suspect, Ifeoma Ezia has been picked up by policemen and currently at the Enugu Area Command with her husband.
But it appears there is a grand plot by police to cover up the case. We gathered that a stern looking police woman has been posted to the ward with instructions not to allow anyone take pictures of the girl or come close to her.
Her close family members, our correspondent was told were embarrassed when they were turned back from seeing the girl. We gathered she is not properly catered for.
“They just dumped her there and used bandage to tie her head and pores are coming out of head already, the sight of that girl is disgusting. Now the girl’s family members are so scared because they don’t know who to run to. None of her family member is allowed to see this girl”, we have been told by our source.
