LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 790 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, making a total of 26,484 cases in the country.

But out of the 26, 484 cases,  10, 152 patients have recovered and therefore discharged, while 603 others could not make it alive.

A breakdown of the 790 new cases showed that 166 new cases were discovered in Delta, 120 in Lagos, 66 in Enugu, 65 in Abuja,  60 in Edo, 43 in Ogun, 41 in Kano, 39 in Kaduna,  33 in Ondo, 32 in Rivers,  29 in Bayelsa, 21 in Katsina, 20 in Imo, 18 in Kwara, 11 in Oyo, 10 in Abia, 6 in Benue, 4 in Gombe, 2 in Yobe, 2 in Bauchi and 2 in Kebbi, making a total of 790 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

Globally, there are 10,577, 263 confirmed cases of Coronavirus while 512,689 others have died based on statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States still remains in the lead among nations most affected by the Coronavirus pandemic, reporting 2, 677, 168 cases, while 127, 930 others could not make alive; 53,951 new cases and 672 deaths, followed by Brazil, which has confirmed 1,402, 041 cases, with 59,594 deaths; 33,846 new cases and 1,280 deaths.

Russia, which has emerged as the most affected country in Europe has documented 653, 479 cases, while 9, 521 patients could not make it alive; 6,550 new cases and 215 deaths in the last 24 hours, followed by India which has reported 585, 481 cases with 17, 400 deaths; 18,641 new cases and 507 deaths in the last 24 hours, followed by the United Kingdom, which has suffered the highest casualty in Europe.

The United Kingdom has confirmed 314, 991 cases with 43,991 deaths; 832 new cases and 176 deaths in the last 24 hours, followed by Peru with 288, 477 confirmed cases with 9, 860 deaths.

Chile is next with 282,043 cases of the Coronavirus pandemic, with 5,753 deaths, followed by Spain, with 249, 659 cases, while 28,364 patients have passed on followed Italy, which has documented 240, 760 cases with 34, 788 deaths.

Next is China, where the Coronavirus pandemic was first reported. China, now in the 22nd spot among the most affected countries has actually reported 84, 813  cases,  4,641 deaths, while 79, 647 patients have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving China with 525 cases, up by 6 cases but no death in the last 24 hours.
