LAGOS, Nigeria -The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 544 new cases of the Coronavirus, making a total of 28, 711 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

But out of the 28, 711 confirmed cases, 11, 665 patients have recovered and therefore discharged from the various isolation centres while 645 others could not make it alive.

A breakdown of the 544 new cases show that 199 new cases were found in Lagos, 65 in Ebonyi, 47 in Oyo, 46 in Ondo, 31 in Ogun, 30 in Edo, 28 in Abuja, 25 in Katsina, 15 in Plateau, 11 in Bayelsa,  10 in Kaduna, 10 in Adamawa,  8 in Akwa Ibom, 7 in Gombe, 4 in Kano, 3 in Taraba, 2 in Rivers,2 in Abia and 1 in Ekiti State, making a total of 544 new cases of #CoronavirusinNigeria.

Globally, there are now 11,365, 572 confirmed cases of Coronavirus while 532,644 patients have been killed by the pandemic, says the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains in the lead among nations most affected by the pandemic, reporting 2,874,396 confirmed cases, while 129, 870 others could not make it alive; 43,810 new cases and 229 deaths in the last 24 hours, followed by Brazil with 1,577, 004 cases with 64,265 deaths; 38,637 new cases and 1,091 deaths in the last 24 hours.

Russia, remains the most affected country in Europe with 680, 283 cases, while 10, 145 patients have died, followed by India, which has documented 673, 165 cases of the pandemic, while 19,268 patients could not come out alive; 24, 850 new cases with 613 deaths in the last 24 hours.

Peru is next with a total 302, 718 cases with 10, 589 deaths, followed by Chile with 295, 532 cases while 6, 308 patients have been killed by the pandemic, followed by the United Kingdom, which has suffered the highest casualty in Europe, reporting 286, 931 cases with 44,305 deaths; 519 new cases and 22  deaths in the last 24 hours.

Mexico has now shot into the league of the top 8, reporting  252, 165 cases, while 30, 366 patients have been killed, followed by Spain with 250, 545 cases with 28, 385 deaths, followed by Italy, which has documented 241, 611 cases, while 34, 861 patients could not come out alive.

France is the 15th most affected country in the world, reporting 204, 222 confirmed cases of the pandemic, while 29, 896 patients have passed on and then China, where the pandemic was first reported. China(22) on the table  has documented 84, 868 and 4,641 deaths, while 79, 717 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving China with 510 cases, up by one case but no death in the last 24 hours.
