LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 604 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 38,948.
Out of the 38, 948 confirmed cases, 16,061 patients have been discharge from isolation centres, while 833 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 22,054 active cases of the Coronavirus pandemic
Breakdown of the 604 new cases is as follows: Lagos-203, Oyo-87, FCT-79,Edo-41,Osun-35, Ogun-24,Rivers-22, Kaduna-22,Akwa Ibom-20,Plateau-18, Delta-9, Ebonyi-9, Imo-8, Enugu-5,Kano-5,Cross River-5,Katsina-4,Nasarawa-3,Borno-2, Ekiti-2 and Bauchi-1

Worldwide, there are currently 15, 429, 889 confirmed cases, 631, 680 deaths, while 8, 758, 636 others have recovered, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland has said.
The centre reported a new threshold for the United States, with over 4 million cases. Specifically, there are currently 4, 028, 741 confirmed cases in the United States, 144, 072 deaths, while 1, 233, 269 others have recovered, leaving the US with 2, 651, 400 active cases of the pandemic, followed by Brazil with 2, 287, 475 confirmed cases, 84, 082 deaths, while 1, 620, 313 others have recovered, leaving Brazil with 947,005 active cases of the pandemic.

India is next with 1, 238, 798 confirmed cases, 29, 861 deaths, while 782,607 Indians have recovered, leaving India with 426, 330 active cases of the pandemic, followed by Russia, which has documented 793, 720 confirmed cases, 12, 873 deaths, while 579, 295 others have been discharged, leaving Russia with 201, 552 active cases of the pandemic, followed by South Africa in the 5th spot with 408, 052 cases, 6,093 deaths while 236, 260 others have recovered, leaving South Africa with 165, 699 active cases of the virus.
Peru is next with 371, 096 cases, 17, 654 deaths, while 255,945 others have been discharged, leaving Peru with 97, 497 active cases, followed by Mexico which has reported 370, 712 cases, 41, 908 deaths, while 277, 867 others have recovered, leaving Mexico with 50, 937 active cases, followed by Chile with 334, 683 cases, 8, 677 deaths, while 306, 816 others have been discharged, leaving Chile with 19, 190 active cases of the pandemic.
The United Kingdom is next with 298, 721 cases, 45, 639 deaths, while only 1, 417 people have recovered, leaving the UK with 251, 665 active cases of the pandemic, followed by Iran with 284,034 confirmed cases, 15, 074 deaths, while 247,230 Iranians have been discharged, leaving Iran with 21, 730 active cases of the pandemic, and then China where the virus was first reported.
China has reported 86, 026 cases, 4, 649 deaths, while 80, 279 Chinese have recovered, leaving China with 1098 cases, up by 446 new cases.
