LAGOS, Nigeria -The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 591 new cases of Coronavirus bringing the total of number of confirmed cases to 39, 539 cases.
Out of the 39, 539 confirmed cases, 16, 559 Nigerians have been discharged, while 845 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 22, 145 active cases of the pandemic.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows: Oyo-191, Lagos-168,FCT-61, Ondo-29,Osun-26, Ebonyi-24, Edo-23,Ogun-14, Rivers-13, Akwa Ibom-12, Kaduna-10,Katsina-6, Borno-4,Ekiti-3, Delta-3, Imo-3 and Niger-1, making a total of 591 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

Globally, there are now 15, 649, 261 confirmed cases, 636, 752 deaths, while 8, 923,575 others have recovered, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering Johns Hopkins University, Maryland has reported.
According to the centre, the United States still remains the most affected by the pandemic, reporting 4,097, 270 cases, 145, 184 deaths, while 1,233,269 Americans have recovered, leaving America with 2, 718, 817 active cases, followed by Brazil 2, 287,475 cases, 84,082 deaths, while 1, 664, 391 others have recovered, leaving Brazil with 539,003 active cases followed by India which has documented 1,288,108 cases, 30, 601 deaths, while 817,209 Indians have recovered, leaving India with 440, 298 active cases of the pandemic.
Russia is next with 799, 499 cases, 13,026 deaths, while 587,728 others have recovered. Russia is left with 198, 745 active cases of the pandemic, followed by South Africa with 421, 996 active cases, 6, 343 deaths, while 245,771 others have recovered, leaving South Africa with 169, 882 active cases of the virus, followed by Mexico.
Mexico has documented 378, 285 cases, 42, 645 deaths, while 282,290 others have recovered, leaving Mexico with 53, 350 active cases, followed by Peru with 375, 961 confirmed cases, 17, 843 deaths, while 259, 423 others have recovered, leaving Peru with 98, 695 active cases of the pandemic, followed by Chile with 341, 304 confirmed cases, 8,914 deaths, while 313,696 others have been discharged, leaving Peru with 18, 694 active cases of the pandemic.
Far in the 9th place is United Kingdom, which has documented 299, 500 cases, 45,762 deaths, while only 1,425 people have recovered, leaving the U.K with 252, 313 active cases of the pandemic, and then China, where the pandemic was first reported. China has documented 86, 177 confirmed cases, 4, 650 deaths, while 80, 325 Chinese have been discharged, leaving China with 1202 active cases of the pandemic.
