LAGOS, Nigeria  – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 463 new cases of the Coronavirus pandemic making a total of 33, 616  confirmed cases in the country.

But out of the 33, 616 cases,  13, 792 Nigerians have been discharged, while 754 others have died;  Nigeria is now left with 19,070 active cases of the pandemic.

Breakdown of the 463 new cases is as follows: Lagos-128, Kwara-92, Enugu-39,  Delta-33,  Edo-29, Plateau-28,  Kaduna-23,  Oyo-15, Ogun-14, Osun-14,  Abuja-12, Ondo-9, Rivers-9, Abia-8,  Bayelsa-5,  Ekiti-3  and Borno-2.

Globally, there are  now 13, 200, 550 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 575,178 deaths, while 7,329, 824 patients have recovered based on statistics from the Centre for System Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.

With a total of 3, 406, 967 cases, the United States remains in the lead of most affected nations, reporting 136, 244 deaths, while 1,030,939 Americans have recovered, leaving the state with 2,239, 784 active cases of the pandemic, followed closely by Brazil which has documented 1,884, 967 cases, 72, 833 deaths, while 1, 307, 299 Brazilians have recovered, leaving the state with 504, 835 active cases.

Next is India with 906, 752 cases, 23, 727 deaths, while 571, 460 others have recovered, leaving India with 311, 565 active cases, followed by  Russia which has reported 738, 787 cases,  11, 597 deaths, while 511,958 others have been discharged, leaving Russia with 215, 232 active cases of the pandemic,  followed by Peru, which has reported 330, 123 cases, 12, 054 deaths, while 228,008 Peruvians have recovered, leaving Peru with 90, 061 active cases and then Chile with 319, 493 cases, 7,069 deaths,  while 289, 220 others have been discharged, leaving Chile with 23, 204 active cases. 

Mexico which is next has documented 304, 435 cases, 35,491 deaths, while 240, 101 Mexicans have recovered, leaving Mexico with 28, 843 active cases, followed by South Africa with 298, 292 cases, 4,346 deaths, while 146, 279 South Africans have recovered, leaving SA with 147,667 active cases.

The United Kingdom is next with 292, 931 confirmed cases,  45,053 deaths, while 1,384 people have recovered, leaving the U.K. with 246, 494 active cases, followed by  Iran, which has documented 262, 173 cases,13, 211 deaths, while 225, 270  Iranians have been discharged, leaving Iran with 23, 692 active cases. Spain is next with 256,619 cases,  28, 409 deaths, while 150, 376 people have recovered, leaving Spain with 23, 692 active cases and then Pakistan with 253, 604 cases, 5, 320 deaths while 170,656 people have been discharged, leaving Pakistan with 77, 628 active cases.

Italy has documented 243, 344 cases, 34, 984 deaths while  195, 441 Italians have recovered, leaving the state with 12,919 active cases of Coronavirus, followed by Saudi Arabia with 237, 803 cases, 2,283  deaths, while 177, 560 people have been discharged, leaving the state with  57, 960 active cases of the  pandemic, followed by Turkey with 214, 993 confirmed cases, 5,402 deaths, while 196, 720 people have recovered, leaving Turkey with 12, 871 active cases.

France has reported 209, 640 cases, 30, 032 deaths, while 78, 722 others have recovered, leaving France with 100, 886 active cases, followed by Germany with 200, 456 cases, 9,078 deaths, while 185, 100 Germans have been discharged, leaving the state to contend with 6, 278 active cases and then China in 23 spots among the most affected countries  with 85, 117 cases, 4, 641 deaths while 79,907 Chinese have recovered, leaving China with 569 active cases of the Coronavirus pandemic.
