LAGOS, Nigeria -The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 595 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total confirmed cases to 34, 854.
Out of the 34, 854 confirmed cases, 14, 292 Nigerians have been discharged, while 769 others were killed by the pandemic, leaving Nigeria with 19, 793 active cases.
Breakdown of the 595 new cases is as follows: Lagos-156, Ondo-95, Rivers-53, Abia-43, Oyo-38, Enugu-29, Edo-24, FCT-23, Kaduna-20, Akwa Ibom-17, Anambra-17, Osun-17, Ogun-14, Kano-13, Imo-11, Delta-6, Ekiti-5, Gombe-4, Plateau-4, Cross River-2, Adamawa-1, Bauchi-1, Jigawa-1 and Yobe-1.

There are currently 13, 683, 631 confirmed cases worldwide, 586, 752 deaths, while 7,644, 665 people have recovered. There are currently 5, 452, 224 active cases worldwide, based on statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States still remains the most affected globally, reporting 3,556, 403 cases, 138,141 deaths, while 1, 075, 882 others have recovered, leaving the United States with 2, 342, 380 active cases (65,668 new cases in the last 24 hours), followed by Brazil with 1, 996, 748 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 75,366 deaths, while 1, 387, 537 others have been discharged (30,000 new cases in the last 24 hours). Brazil is left with 533, 845 active cases of Coronavirus.
India is next with 968, 876 cases, 24, 915 deaths, while 612,815 others have recovered(32,695 cases in the last 24 hours), leaving India with 331,146 active cases, followed by Russia with 751,612 cases, 11,920 deaths, while 530, 801 Russians have recovered, leaving Russia with 208,891 active cases, followed by Peru with 341, 586 cases, 12, 615 deaths, while 230,994 others have recovered, leaving Peru with 97, 977 active cases.
South Africa is now in the 6th place in the ranks of most affected countries in the world, reporting 324, 221 cases, 4, 669 deaths, while 165,591 others have recovered, leaving 153, 961 active cases(13,172 new cases in the last 24 hours), followed by Chile with 323, 698 cases, 7,290 deaths, while 295,301 Chileans have been discharged, leaving the state with 21, 107 active cases.
Mexico is next with 317,635 cases, 36, 906 deaths, while 252,368 others have recovered, leaving Mexico with 28,361 active cases, followed by United Kingdom with 294,110 cases, 45, 204 deaths, while 1,386 others have recovered(641 new cases in the last 24 hours), leaving the United Kingdom with 247, 520 active cases.
Iran is next with 267, 061 cases, 13, 608 deaths, while 230,608 Iranians have recovered, leaving the state with 22,845 active cases and then China where the Coronavirus was first reported. Now number 25th in the ranks of most affected countries, China has documented 85, 314 cases, 4, 644 deaths, while 80, 018 Chinese have been discharged, leaving China with 652 active cases of the pandemic.
