LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 595 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, making a total of 33,153 cases.
But out of the 33, 153 cases, 13,671 Nigerians have been discharged while 744 others have passed away, leaving Nigeria with 18, 738 active cases.
Breakdown of the 595 new cases is as follows: Lagos-156, Oyo-141, FCT-99, Edo-47, Kaduna-27, Ondo-22, Rivers-20, Osun-17, Imo-13, Plateau-10, Nasarawa-8, Anambra-8, Kano-5, Benue-5, Borno-5, Ogun-4, Taraba-3, Gombe-3, Kebbi-1 and Cross Rivers-1.

Meanwhile cases of the pandemic today crossed 13 million worldwide based on statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland. According to the centre, there are currently 13, 026,225 confirmed cases, 570, 924 deaths, while 7,188,992 others have recovered.
The United States still leads other countries, reporting 3, 352, 696 confirmed cases, 135, 512 deaths, while 1,006, 326 others have recovered , leaving the United States with 2,210, 858 active cases, followed by Brazil which has documented 1,864, 681 confirmed cases, 72, 100 deaths, while 1, 286, 490 patients have recovered, leaving Brazil with 506, 091 active cases, followed by India with 878, 254 cases, 23, 174 deaths, while 553, 471 Indians have recovered, leaving the state with 301, 609 active cases.
Russia is next with 732, 547 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 11, 442 deaths while 503, 168 Russians have recovered, leaving the state with 217, 937 active cases, followed by Peru with 330, 123 confirmed cases, 12,054 deaths, while 221,008 Peruvians have recovered, leaving the state with 97, 061 actives cases of the pandemic.
Chile is next with 317, 657 confirmed cases, 7,024 deaths while 286,556 patients have recovered, leaving Chile with 24,077 active cases, followed by Mexico with 299, 750 confirmed cases, 35,006 deaths, while 234,905 Mexicans have recovered, leaving Mexico with 29, 839 active cases, followed by the United Kingdom, with 291, 685 confirmed cases, 44, 915 deaths, while only 1, 378 people have recovered, leaving the U.K with 245, 392 actives cases of the pandemic.
South Africa is next with 287, 796 confirmed cases, 4,172 deaths while 138, 241 others have recovered, leaving South Africa with 145, 383 active cases of Coronavirus, followed by Iran with 259,652 cases, 13,032 deaths, while 222,539 Iranians have recovered, leaving Iran with 24, 081 active cases of the pandemic, followed by Spain with 255, 953 confirmed cases, 28, 406 deaths, while 150, 376 patients have recovered, leaving Spain with 77, 171 active cases of the virus.
Pakistan has documented 251,625 confirmed cases, 5, 266 deaths, while 161, 917 Pakistanis have recovered, leaving the state with 84, 442 active cases, followed by Italy with 243, 230 cases, 34, 967 deaths, while 195, 106 others have been discharged, leaving Italy with 13, 157 active cases of the pandemic, followed by Saudi Arabia, which has documented 235, 111 cases, 2,243 deaths while 169,842 patients have recovered, leaving the holy city with 63, 026 active cases.
Turkey is next with 214,001 confirmed cases, 5, 382 deaths, while 195, 671 others have recovered, leaving Turkey with 12, 948 actives cases of the pandemic. France is next with 209, 640 cases, 30, 032 deaths, while 78,722 others have been discharged, leaving France with 100, 886 active cases of Coronavirus followed by Germany with 200,180 cases, 9,074 deaths, while 185, 100 Germans have recovered leaving the state with 6,006 active cases and then China which has reported 85, 117 cases, 4, 641 deaths, while 79, 907 Chinese have recovered, leaving China with 569 active cases of the pandemic.
