LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 573 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 16, 658.
Out of the 16, 658 cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, 5,349 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, while 424 others could not make it alive.
However, a breakdown of the 573 new cases revealed that 216 cases were found in Lagos, 103 in Rivers, 68 in Oyo, 40 in Edo, 21 in Kano, 20 in Gombe, 17 in Abuja, 13 in Delta, 12 in Bauci, 10 in Niger, 9 in Kebbi, 8 in Ogun, 8 in Ondo, 7 in Abia, 5 in Nasarawa, 1 in Borno, 1 in Kwara, 1 in Benue and 1 in Anambra /state.

16,658 confirmed, 5,349 discharged, 424 deaths”, the NCDC has said of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
Globally, there are now over 8,001, 138 confirmed cases of Coronavirus while 434, 849 patients have died based on statistics released by the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering.
According to the centre, the United States still leads in the committee of nations most affected by the pandemic, reporting 2, 110, 182 confirmed cases, while 116, 081 others have passed on, followed by Brazil, which has reported 867, 624 confirmed cases with 43, 332 deaths, about 17, 110 new cases and 612 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Next is Russia, which is actually the most affected country in Europe based on the population affected. Russia has documented 536, 484 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 7,081 patients have passed on, followed by India with 332, 424 confirmed cases with 9, 520 deaths, followed by United Kingdom, which has reported 298, 315 confirmed cases with 41, 821 deaths.
Next is Spain, which now has 244, 109 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 27, 136 patients have passed on followed by Italy which has documented 237, 290 confirmed cases of Coronavirus while 34, 371 patients were not lucky to come out alive.
India, where Coronavirus was first reported now occupies the 19th spot in the committee of most afflicted nations, reporting 84, 339 confirmed cases, 4, 638 deaths, while 79, 483 patients hare recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving China with 218 cases, up by 36 new cases but no death in the last few weeks.
