LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 663 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 13,464.

Out of the 13, 464 cases,  4206 have recovered and subsequently discharged, while 365 others could not make it alive.

However, a breakdown of the 663 new cases showed that 170 new cases were discovered in Lagos, 108 in Ogun, 69 in Bauchi, 49 in Ebonyi, 33 in Edo, 30 in Rivers, 26 in Abuja,  26 in Jigawa, 20 in Delta, 17 in Anambra, 16 in Gombe, 16 in Kano, 15 in Imo, 14 in Abia, 11 in Borno, 11 in Oyo, 8 in Plateau, 6 in Kebbi, 6 in Kaduna, 4 in Ondo, 2 in Niger, 2 in Katsina, 1 in Osun, 1 in Ekiti, 1 in Kwara and 1 in Nasarawa State, the NCDC has said of new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

Globally, there are now 7, 185, 573 confirmed cases, while 408, 954 others have passed on based on statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States still leads among the most affected nations worldwide, reporting 1, 973, 803 confirmed cases with 111, 751deaths, followed by Brazil, which has reported 707, 412 confirmed cases with 37, 134 deaths. 

The situation in Brazil has improved, with new cases dropping to 15, 654 from the figures of obtained on Tuesday, and 697 deaths from  the figure recorded, that same day, followed by Russia with 484, 630 confirmed cases and 6, 134 deaths.

Next is the United Kingdom, which has suffered the highest casualty in Europe. The United Kingdom has reported 290, 576 confirmed cases while 40, 968 others could not make it alive, followed by India, which has reported 276, 146 confirmed cases with 7, 750 deaths followed by Spain with 241, 966 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 27, 136 deaths and then Italy with 235, 561 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 34, 043 deaths.

In the 18th spot is China, where the pandemic was first reported. China now has 84, 195 confirmed cases, 4638 deaths, while 79, 446 patients have recovered, leaving China with 111 cases.
