LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 348 cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 11166.

Out of the total 11, 166 cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, 3329 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, while 315 others have died.

A breakdown of the 348 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria showed that 163 new cases were found in Lagos, 76 in Abuja, 23 in Ebonyi, 21 in Rivers, 8 in Delta, 8 in Nasarawa, 8 in Niger, 6 in Enugu, 5 in Bauchi, 5 in Edo, 5 in Ekiti, 5 in Ondo, 5 in Gombe, 4 in Benue, 2 in Ogun, 1 in Osun, 1 in Plateau, 1 in Kogi and 1 in Anambra State.

Globally, there are currently 6, 393, 956 confirmed cases, while 383, 318 have passed on based on statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins  University, Maryland. 

According to the Centre, the United States still leads among the most affected countries, reporting 1, 849, 852 confirmed cases with 107, 099 deaths, followed by Brazil with 555, 383 confirmed cases, while 31, 199 patients have passed on. 

Russia, which is the most affected country in Europe has reported 431, 715 confirmed cases, with 5, 208 deaths, followed by United Kingdom which has suffered the highest casualty in Europe. 

The U.K currently has 281, 270 confirmed cases of the pandemic, while 39, 811 have died, followed by Spain, which currently has 240, 326 confirmed cases of the pandemic with 27, 128 deaths.

Next is Italy, which currently has 233, 836 confirmed cases with 33, 601 deaths. China where the Coronavirus pandemic started has reported 84, 159 confirmed cases, 4,638 deaths, while 79, 400 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving China with 121 cases, up by about 6 cases compared with the previous day.
