LAGOS, Nigeria -The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 549 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number of the pandemic in the country to 22, 614.
Out of the 22, 614 cases, 7, 822 patients have recovered and consequently discharged, while 549 others could not make it alive.
However, a breakdown of the 594 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria showed that 159 cases were discovered in Lagos, 106 in Delta, 44 in Ondo, 34 in Abuja, 34 in Edo, 33 in Oyo, 33 in Kaduna, 28 in Enugu, 25 in Katsina, 22 in Imo, 15 in Adamawa, 12 in Ogun, 11 in Osun, 8 in Abia, 6 in River, 5 in Nasarawa, 5 in Bauchi, 5 in Niger, 4 in Kebbi, 3 in Ekiti, 1 in Plateau and 1 in Taraba State.

Globally, there are currently 9, 568,991 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 486, 101 patients have died as a result of the pandemic, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland has said.
According to the centre, the United State, which is the most affected country in the world now has 2, 416, 727 confirmed cases while 122, 550 patients on U.S soil have died, followed by Brazil, which has confirmed 1, 228, 114 cases with 54, 971 deaths.
The centre noted that Brazil has recorded 82, 208 new cases and 2, 326 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Russia, the most affected country in Europe has documented 613, 148 confirmed cases with 8, 594 deaths, followed by India which has confirmed 473, 105 cases, while 14, 894 patients have died, followed by United Kingdom with 309, 455 cases with 43, 314 deaths and then Peru, which has documented 268, 602 cases while 8, 761 patients have died.
Chile is next with 259,064 cases, with 4,903 deaths, followed by Spain with 247, 486 confirmed cases, while 28, 330 patients have passed on, trailed by Italy, which has recorded 239, 706 confirmed cases , while 34, 678 patients have been killed by the pandemic and then China, which has been pushed into the 20th spots in the committee of nations most affected by the pandemic.
China has documented 84, 687 confirmed cases, 4,641 deaths, while 79, 566 patients have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving China with 480 cases, up by 21 new cases and 1 death in the last 24 hours.
