U.S: 2, 068, 591 cases, 115, 251 deaths

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Center for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 501 cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 15, 682.
Out of the total 15, 682 confirmed cases, 5101 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged while 407 others have died.
A breakdown of the 501 new cases revealed that 195 cases were discovered in Lagos, 50 in Abuja, 42 in Kano, 27 in Kaduna, 26 in Edo, 22 in Oyo, 21 in Imo, 17 in Gombe, 12 in Benue, 12 in Enugu, 11 in Delta, 11 in Anambra, 10 in Ebonyi, 9 in Nasarawa, 9 in Ogun, 8 in Bauchi, 4 in Kebbi, 3 in Akwa Ibom, 3 inJigawa, 3 in Katsina, 2 in Yobe, 2 in Borno, 1 in Kwara and 1 in Ondo State, the NCDC has said of new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
“NCDC @NCDCgov. 501 new cases of #COVID19, Lagos-195, FCT-50, Kano-42Kaduna-27, Edo-26, Oyo-22, Imo-21, Gombe-17, Benue-12, Enugu-12, Delta-11, Anambra-11, Ebonyi-10, Nasarawa-9, Ogun-9, Bauchi-8, Kebbi-4, Akwa Ibom-3, Jigawa-3, Katsina-3, Yobe-2, Borno-2, Kwara-1, Ondo-1. 15682 confirmed, 5101 discharged, 407 deaths”, the NCDC has said in a statement.
Globally, there are 7, 751,747 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 428, 101 others are dead based on statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States still leads among the most affected countries in terms of population affected and total number of deaths. The United States has documented 2, 068, 591 confirmed cases of the pandemic, while 115, 251 patients have passed on followed by Brazil which has recorded 828, 810 confirmed cases with 41, 828 deaths, 18 new cases in the last 24 hours.

Following Brazil in the ranks of most affected countries is Russia, currently the most afflicted country in Europe in terms of population affected. Russia has documented 519, 458 confirmed cases, with 6, 819 deaths, followed by India, which has recorded 308, 916 confirmed cases of the pandemic, while 6, 819 patients have passed on.
The United Kingdom, which has suffered the most casualty in Europe has documented 295, 828 confirmed cases with 21, 747 deaths, followed by Spain which has reported 243, 605 confirmed cases, while 27, 137 patients have passed on and then Italy, which has documented 236, 651 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, with 34, 301 deaths.
Occupying the 18th spot in the ranks of affected countries is China, where the pandemic was first reported.
According to the centre, China has documented 84, 229 confirmed cases with 4, 638 deaths, while 79, 473 patients have recovered, leaving China with 115 cases, up by 6 new cases.
