Coronavirus in Brazil: Over 65,000 in one day

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 409 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 13, 873.

Out of the 13, 873 cases, 4,351 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, while 382 others could not make it alive. 

However, a breakdown of the 409 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, revealed that 201 cases were discovered in Lagos, 85 in Abuja, 22 in Delta, 16 in Edo, 14 in Nasarawa, 14 in Borno, 14 in Kaduna,  10 in Bauchi, 9 in Rivers, 5 in Enugu, 5 in Kano, 4 in Ogun, 4 in Ondo, 2 in Bayelsa, 2 in Kebbi and 2 in Plateau.

Globally,  at least 7, 357, 323 people have been confirmed with the Coronavirus pandemic, while 313, 854 others were not lucky  to make it alive, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland has reported.

According to the centre, the United States still remains the lead among the most affected countries in the world, reporting 1, 997, 636 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 112,726 patients have died, followed by Brazil, with 772, 416 confirmed cases, while 38, 406 others have passed on.  

However, in the last 24 hours, Brazil has recorded 65,004 new cases and 1, 272 new deaths, John Hopkins University has reported about Coronavirus in Brazil

Next to Brazil is Russia, which is actually the most afflicted country in Europe. Russia has reported 493, 023 confirmed cases with 6350 deaths, followed by United Kingdom, which has suffered the worst casualty in Europe. 

The United Kingdom has reported 291, 588 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 41, 213 deaths, followed by India, which has reported 276, 583 confirmed cases, with 7745 deaths. 

Coming very close to India is  Spain, which now has 242, 280 confirmed cases, with 27, 136 deaths, followed by Italy, which has reported 235,763 confirmed cases, while 34, 114 others have passed on and then China, where the pandemic was first reported. China has reported 84, 199 confirmed cases, 4638 deaths, while 79, 452 patients have recovered, leaving 109 cases of Coronavirus in China.
