LAGOS, Nigeria – The Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 260 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 12,486 cases.

Out of the 12, 486 cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, 3959 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, while 354 others could not make it alive.

However, a breakdown of the of the 260 new cases revealed that 67 cases were discovered in Abia, 40 in Abuja, 38 in Lagos, 19 in Ogun, 16 in Gombe, 14 in Edo, 9 in Imo State, 8 in Kwara, 8 in Katsina, 8 in Nasarwa, 8 in Borno, 6 in Kaduna, 5 in Bauchi, 4 in Ekiti, 2 in Niger, 2 in Ondo, 2 in Plateau, 2 in Kano and 2 in Sokoto State”, the NCDC has said of new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria

Globally there are now 6, 973, 175 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 401, 564 have died based on statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryand.

According to the centre, the United States still  remains the most affected country in the world, reporting 1, 931, 850 confirmed cases with 110, 141 deaths  followed by Brazil with 672, 846 confirmed cases with 35, 930 deaths.

However, out of the whole numbers, 27,075 are new cases with 904 deaths, such a drastic reduction in deaths, compared to the over 4000 deaths recorded on Saturday.

There were 645, 771  cases of Coronavirus(35,026 deaths) in Brazil on Saturday compared with 672, 846 confirmed cases (35, 930  deaths) on Sunday

Russia remains the most affected country in Europe, reporting 467,073 confirmed cases with 5, 851 deaths, followed by United Kingdom, which has suffered the highest casualty in Europe. 

The United Kingdom currently has 287, 221confirmed cases while 40, 621patients have died, followed by India with 257, 506 confirmed cases, with 7,207 deaths. 

Spain is the next most affected country, reporting 241, 550 confirmed cases, with 27, 136 deaths, followed by Italy, which has reported 234, 998 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 33, 899 deaths and then China which has been pushed into the 18th spots in the ranks of most affected countries in the world.

China has reported 84, 187 confirmed cases, with  4, 638 deaths, while 79, 427 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving China with 122 cases.
