LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 146 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 4787.
According to the NCDC, out of the 4787 confirmed cases, 959 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, while 158 others are dead.
But out of the 146 new cases, 57 were found in Lagos, 27 in Kano, 10 in Kwara, 9 in Edo, 8 in Bauchi, 7 in Yobe, 4 in Kebbi, 4 in Oyo, 3 in Katsina, 3 in Niger, 2 in Plateau, 2 in Borno, 2 in Sokoto, 2 in Benue, 1 in Gombe, 1 in Enugu, 1 in Ebony, 1 in Ogun, 1 in Abuja, and 1 in Rivers State.

But worldwide, there are now 4, 254, 302 confirmed cases while 291, 344 patients have died based on statistics from the Centre for System Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States still maintains the lead among the most affected nations in terms of population affected and the total number of deaths.

The United States currently has 1,367, 491 confirmed cases of Coronavirus while 82, 227 patients have died, followed closely by Russia which has overtaken United Kingdom as the most affected country in Europe and the second most affected country in the world.
Russia now has 232, 243 confirmed cases of the virus, while 2, 116 patients have died, followed by Spain with 228, 030 confirmed cases of Coronavirus while 26, 920 patients have died. Next is the United Kingdom which now has 227, 740 confirmed cases with 32, 769 deaths. Next is Italy with 221, 216 confirmed cases of the pandemic while 30,911 patients have died.
China where the Coronavirus pandemic originated has reported 84,011 confirmed cases with 4, 637 deaths while 79, 208 patients have recovered and discharged, leaving China with just 166 cases of the pandemic.
