LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 239 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 4, 151 cases, while China is left with just 283 cases.
Out of the 4151 confirmed cases in Nigeria, 745 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged while 128 patients have died.
But a breakdown of the 239 confirmed cases show that 97 cases were discovered in Lagos, 44 in Bauchi, 29 in Kano, 19 in Katsina, 17 in Borno, 7 in Abuja, 6 in Kwara, 5 in Oyo, 3 in Kaduna, 3 in Sokoto, 2 in Adamawa, 2 in Kebbi, 2 in Plateau, 2 in Ogun and 1 in Ekiti State.

Globally, there are currently 4,018, 342 confirmed cases while 278, 756 people have been killed by the virus based on statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States still remains the most affected country in terms of population afflicted and the total number of death. The U.S now has 1, 307, 678 confirmed cases with 78, 693 patients confirmed dead, followed by Spain, which has reported 227, 857 confirmed cases with 26, 299 deaths.

Italy is next among the most affected country in terms of population afflicted, reporting 218, 268 confirmed cases with 30, 395 deaths, followed by United Kingdom which has recorded the highest number of deaths in Europe and second to the US with the highest death figures. The United Kingdom has reported 216, 525 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 31, 662 deaths.
China where the Coronavirus pandemic started from has reported 83,976 confirmed cases with 4,637 deaths, while 79,056 patients have recovered and discharged, leaving China with just 283 cases.
