LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 182 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 8915 cases.

But out of the total number, 2592 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged while 259 others could not make it alive.

However, a breakdown of the 182 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, shows that 111 cases were found in Lagos, 16 in Abuja, 10 in Akwa Ibom, 8 in Oyo, 6 in Kaduna, 6 in Delta, 5 in Rivers, 4 in Ogun, 4 in Ebonyi, 3 in Kano, 2 in Plateau, 2 in Gombe, 2 in Kebbi, 2 in Kwara, 1 in Bauchi and 1 in Borno.

Globally, there are currently 5, 763, 222 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 358, 369 patients have passed on based on statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States still leads among countries most affected by the pandemic in terms of population affected and the total number of deaths.

The U.S currently has 1, 717,  756 confirmed cases of the pandemic with 101, 470 deaths, followed by Brazil with 411, 821 confirmed cases, while 25, 598 patients could not make it alive.

Next is Russia, the most affected country in Europe in terms of population so far affected. Russia has confirmed 379, 051 cases with  4, 142 deaths, followed by the United Kingdom, which  has recorded the highest number of deaths in Europe.

The U.K currently has  270, 507  confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 37, 919 patients have died from the virus. Next is Spain, which has reported 237,906  confirmed cases with 27, 119 deaths, followed by Italy, which currently has 231, 732 confirmed cases with 33, 142 deaths.

China, where the pandemic was first reported now occupies the 14th spots among most affected countries in the world, reporting 84, 106 confirmed cases,  4, 638 deaths, while 79, 371 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving China with just 97 cases.
