LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 339 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 7016.

Out of the 7016 cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, 1907 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged while 211 others have died.

However, a breakdown of the 339 new cases of the pandemic revealed that 139 new cases were found in Lagos, 28 in Kano, 28 in Oyo, 25 in Edo, 22 in Katsina, 18 in Kaduna, 14 in Jigawa, 13 in Yobe, 13 in Plateau, 11 in Abuja, 8 in Gombe, 5 in Ogun, 4 in Bauchi, 4 in Nasarawa, 3 in Delta, 3 in Ondo, 1 in Rivers and 1 in Adamawa.

Globally, there are currently 5,076, 846 confirmed cases of the pandemic, while 331, 137 patients have died based on statistics released by the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland. According to the centre, the United States still leads among the most affected nations in terms of population affected and total number of deaths.

The US currently has a total of 1, 575, 064 confirmed cases of Coronavirus while 94, 591 people have died, followed by Russia, the most affected country in Europe in terms of population infected.

Russia has reported 317, 554 confirmed cases while 3,099 patients have passed on, followed by Brazil with 291, 579 confirmed cases, while 18, 859 patients have died of the pandemic.

The United Kingdom is the second most affected country in Europe but has suffered the highest number of deaths. The U.K currently has 252, 236 confirmed cases of the pandemic with 36, 124 deaths, followed by Spain with 233, 037 confirmed cases with 27, 940 deaths, followed by Italy with 228,006 confirmed cases while 32, 486 have died.

China, where Coronavirus was first reported currently has 84,063 confirmed cases, 4,638 deaths, while 79, 310 have recovered, leaving China with 115 cases. China has recorded no new case in the last two days.
