LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 176 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 5621.
Out of total confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, 1472 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged while 176 others could not make it.
However, a breakdown of the 176 new cases revealed that 95 patients were found in Lagos, 31 in Oyo, 11 in Abuja, 8 in Niger, 8 in Borno, 6 in Jigawa, 4 in Kaduna, 3 in Anambra, 2 in Edo, 2 in Rivers, 2 in Nasarawa, 2 in Bauchi, 1 in Benue and 1 in Zamfara, making a total of 176 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

Worldwide, there are currently 4, 614, 135 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 310, 520 patients have died based on statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States still leads, among most affected nations in terms of population affected and the total number of death.

The US currently has 1, 463, 350 confirmed cases, while 88, 473 patients have died, followed by Russia, the most affected nation in terms of population affected in Europe.
Russia has reported 272, 043 confirmed cases of the pandemic with 2, 537 deaths followed by Unied Kingdom which currently has a total of 241, 455 confirmed cases, while 34, 546 patients have passed on.
Spain has reported 230, 698 confirmed cases of Coronavirus while 27, 563 patients could not make it, followed closely by Italy, which has a total of 224, 760 confirmed cases of the virus while 31, 763 patients have died.
China, where the pandemic started has reported a total of 84,038 confirmed cases of the virus, 4, 637 deaths while 79, 282 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving China with just 119 cases.
