LAGOS, Nigeria – Office of the Lagos State Governor’s office, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu who has been hit by the deadly Coronavirus as not less than 10 people have tested positive to the deadly pandemic.
Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi who made the revelation also said that the governor and his wife, Joke Sanwo-Olu have consistently tested nagative to the pandemic.
“#COVID19Lagos Update I am glad to announce that #COVID19 Incident Commander Governor of Lagos State @jidesanwoolu and the First Lady of Lagos @jokesanwoolu have consistently tested negative to #COVID19 following three consecutive tests conducted on them recently”, he said.
He then went ahead to reveal that 10 officials working in the office of governor have tested positive to the virus.
“Prof. Akin Abayomi @ProfAkinAbayomi However, 10 persons associated with Lagos State House in Marina have tested positive to #COVID19. On behalf of @followlasg I therefore implore you all to continue to embrace the #MaskUpLagos initiative and observe all precautionary measures such as physical distancing, hand washing and other personal hygiene.
“All directives on easing lockdown in Lagos State remain in force. It is our collective responsibility to do all we can to stop the spread of #COVID19 #ForAGreaterLagos”, he said.

He made the revelation just as Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday discharged 60 COVID-19 Lagos patients; 40 males and 20 females, from our Yaba, Eti-Osa and Ibeju-Lekki isolation facilities to reunite with their families and society.
“The patients, 31 from the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, 19 from the Ibeju-Lekki and 10 from Eti-Osa Isolation Centres were discharged having fully recovered and tested negative in two consecutive readings.
“With this, the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases that have been successfully managed and discharged in Lagos is now 321.
“The high number of discharged patients should not be an avenue for us to shun all precautionary measures to avoiding the transmission and spread of the virus. It is important that we do the right things and act responsibly at this time.
“Easing the lockdown is not a reason for us to rush out and eschew all safety guidelines. Social distancing should be strictly adhered to. If you have no reason to be out, please stay home, stay safe and save lives. And if you must go out, please Mask Up”, he said.
