COVID-19: Nigerian confirms 86 new cases as 164, 938 die globally
LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 86 new cases of COVID-19 pandemic, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 627.
Out of the 86 new cases, 70 were confirmed in Lagos, 7 in Abuja, 3 in Katsina, 1 in Akwa Ibom State, 1 in Jigawa, 1 in Bauchi and 1 in Borno State, making a total of 86 new cases.
Nigeria currently has a total of 627 confirmed cases of COVID-19, the NCDC said, adding that out of the total number, 170 patients have been treated and discharged while 21 patients have died.

The figures in Nigeria jumped to 627 cases just as there are now 2, 394, 291 confirmed cases of COVID-19 worldwide while 164, 938 people have died from the pandemic, with United States of America still the most affected country in the world. The US currently has 755, 533 confirmed cases, while 40, 461 patients have died.
According to the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Spain remains the second most affected country in the world with 196, 664 confirmed cases of COVID-19 while 20, 595 patients have died. Italy now has 178, 972 confirmed cases with 23, 660 deaths.

Next is France which now has a total of 154, 097 confirmed cases with 19, 774 deaths, while Germany currently has 145, 184 with 4,586 deaths, next is United Kingdom with 121, 172 confirmed cases with 16, 095 deaths.
Turkey has overtaken China and Iran and currently reports 86,306 confirmed cases with 2,017 deaths, followed by China which still reports 83, 805 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 4, 636 deaths, followed by Iran with 82, 211 with 5, 118 deaths.
