There are now 1,289, 380 cases globally with 70, 590 deaths

LAGOS, Nigeria – The worst is now over as far as the COVID-19 pandemic is concerned in China, which hitherto reported 82,665 confirmed cases.

Out of the 82,665 cases, 77,310 patients have recovered and consequently discharged from hospitals, while 3,355 patients have died leaving China with just 2,020 cases to contend with.

Cases in China dropped drastically and it looks set to be over in a matter of weeks, while the situation in Nigeria is getting worse. Nigeria currently reports 232 confirmed cases as at 5th April, 2020.

Out of these 232 cases, 33 have been discharged while five patients have died as a result of the pandemic.

In the United States, the situation is getting very scary as it has reported 337,933 confirmed cases with 9,654 deaths. Out of 337,933, confirmed cases only 17, 582 patients have recovered with reports that the week ahead may spell doom for the US.

These figures are based on what the Centre for System Science and Engineering, in the University of Hopkins has reported.

The centre also reported that Worldwide there are now 1,289, 380 confirmed cases with 70, 590 deaths.
