ONITSHA, Anambra, Nigeria – Policemen in Anambra are currently investigating how two suspected murderers, posing as homosexual partners  lured their murdered victim through Facebook, all the way from Owerri, Imo state to Nanka,Orumba North in Anambra for as small as N20,000. 

The two suspects,  Angus Chukwebuka Nwankwo​ and​ Chidiebere Omeyi were​ among the 122 suspects paraded in Awka,  Anambra state capital on Friday at state Police Command Headquarters by the state Commissioner for Police, Mr. John Abang

Also paraded are 108 cultists, one gun runner, and one  fake army officer and others. The two suspects who spoke to our reporter said​ their victim came all the way from Owerri, Imo State for homosexual activities, promising to pay N20,000  for the service.

Nwakwo said that he met his victim on Facebook where they concluded plans for him to visit him in Nanka for homosexual activies.

According to him, the  victim promised to part with N20,000 if he succeeds in having sex  with his male partner.

“He came to my place as a  homosexaul. We met on Facebook​ and he asked if I can engage in homosexual acts with him and I said no, but after pressuring me, I caved in to his sexual overtures.

“He promised to give me N20,000  if I agree to have sex with him. As soon as he came in,  I asked for the money and he said he would give me the money   after satisfying the sexual urge which brought him all the way from Imo State.

“I said for that ,he will never do anything again and I insisted that he must pay me​ the money he promised. From there, we started to fight and he hit me. I fell down and  my younger brother who was with me held him down. I stood up, picked up a stick and hit him and he died.

When we killed him, we did not dump him in the bush but we reported ourselves to a vigilante group who took us to the Special Anti Robbery Squad SARS in Nanka because there is no police station in Nanka”  Nwakwo said.

His younger brother chidiebere told our reporter that he was not the person that invited the victim but his senior brother.

“My senior brother told me​ that there is  one homosexaul ‘guy’​ coming to their place and that the man promised to give him N20,000​ after the sexual encounter. He said that when the man comes he  will just collect his money from him and discharge him” he said. 

“My brother is not into homosexaul but into comedy and music as well as learning plumbing work in Lagos.

“I  came back from Lagos to the village because we had a burial​ on February 20th, 2020 and I was to travel back to Lagos  last week Sunday” he said.

Parading the suspects, the State commissioner for Police John Abang, represented by the spokesperson of the command SP Haruna Mohammed​ said that on the 09/3/2020 at about 3.45pm, following report, Puff Adder operative in conjunction with the command special Anti Robbery Squad SARS arrested  the two suspects at Nanka, Orumba North local government area of Anambra state.

According to him, the suspects had on 27/2/2020 lured a Facebook user simply identified as Willswags from Owerri Imo State to Nanka and after robbing their victim of his belongings, the suspects allegedly killed and dumped his body inside​ the bush at Nanka 

He also disclosed that the suspects had confessed to the crime and took the police to the site where they  dumped their victim corpse and the decomposing body was recovered. Abang said the decomposing body of the victim has been deposited in the mortuary for autopsy.

He further disclosed that one Tecnco phone belonging to the deceased was recovered from the suspects and the case is under investigation and  that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded.
