KADUNA, Nigeria – Unity Bank Plc has shutdown a branch at Abubakar Gummi Market Business Office, Kaduna over a suspected case of COVID-19 pandemic.
In a public notice, the bank said a staff showing symptoms of the COVID-19 pandemic had reported for work at the office but was not allowed in after displaying symptoms of the pandemic.
“The staff was not allowed into the branch, rather was isolated and the National Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) Kaduna was contacted in line with guidelines on disease control”, the bank said.

The bank said, it has consequently shut down the branch as a result of COVID-19 pandemic and asked staff of the branch to self isolate for the next 14 days
“We also advice anyone visited the branch last week to self quarantine as required by the NCDC”, the bank said, adding that the health and safety of customers remains paramount to the bank.
While urging staff and customers to maintain high standard of hygiene, the bank urged customers to make use of alternative channels.
