657, 140 confirmed cases recorded worldwide

LAGOS, Nigeria – It seems there will be no end in sight for the deadly COVID-19 pandemic which has continued to decimate the global population as Nigeria records 14 new cases today, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 111.
The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) which made the revelation this evening noted that out of the 14 fresh cases, 9 were discovered in Lagos and 5 in Abuja.

“Fourteen new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria; 9 in Lagos and 5 in FCT As at 09:30 pm 29th March there are 111 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria with 1 death”, the NCDC said.
Nigeria hits 111 just as 30, 451 people die of COVID-19 pandemic globally with a total of 657, 140 confirmed cases worldwide.

The United States of America remains the most afflicted country so far, reporting a total 124,665 confirmed cases with 2,191 deaths. Next to the United States is Italy with confirmed cases of 92, 472 cases with 10,023 deaths. China where the COVID-19 pandemic was first reported has moved into the third most affected country, reporting 82, 342 confirmed cases with 3, 306 deaths.

In the fourth place is Spain, which has a total of 72, 248 confirmed cases with 5,690 deaths. Next is Germany, which now reports 52, 547 confirmed cases with 389 deaths, while France has reported 37, 575 with 2,314 deaths. Next is Iran with 35,408 confirmed cases with 2,517 deaths.
The United Kingdom currently has 17,089 confirmed cases with 1,019 deaths. In Africa, South Africa is the most affected, followed by Egypt and Algeria. See chart here for global spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
