LAGOS, Nigeria – Access Bank Plc today shut the branch at Ligali Ayorinde, Victoria Island, Lagos. In a statement, Access Bank said it took the decision when it confirmed that an individual who has tested positive to COVID-19 pandemic visited the branch on March 16, 2020.
According to Access Bank, the visitor was symptoms-free at the time he made the visit but that the person is currently being monitored at the Infectious Disease Centre at Yaba, Lagos.
“In line with our emergency response plan and following regulatory practices, the branch has been temporarily closed for thorough disinfection”, adding that persons who were in contact with the individual are currently quarantined at the isolation centre in Yaba.

Access Bank adviced anybody who visited the branch last week to self-quarantine for a period of 14 days with immediate effect.
“Should you feel sick or exhibit any of the Coronavirus symptoms, please contact the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control on 0800 979 0001 or SMS 0809 955 5577 immediately to find out what to do”, the bank said.
It noted that the health of stakeholders remain paramount at Access Bank Plc, adding that it is taking all necessary measures to ensure safty of customers.
Access Bank said it will continue to serve customers through other alternative channels.
