LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 11 new cases of the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing the total number of cases in Nigeria to 81.

According to NCDC, out of the 11 new cases, 8 cases were discovered in Lagos, 2 in Enugu and 1 in Edo State. The NCDC said 3 people have been discharged in Nigeria, while only one death has been recorded so far.

“11 new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria: 8 in Lagos, 2 in Enugu & 1 in Edo State. As at 11:55pm 27th March, there are 81 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 3 have been discharged with 1 death”, the NCDC said in a statement.

So far, COVID-19 has afflicted 280,025 people globally and killed 23,672 people. So far, the United States with 85,991confirmed cases with 1,296 deaths, followed by China 82,079 and 3,298 death.

Next is Italy with confirmed cases of 80, 539 and 8, 165 deaths. Italy so far has the highest number of deaths of countries afflicted with COVID-19 pandemic.
