MOSCOW, Russia – With effect from today, March 19, 2020 courts in Moscow have banned journalists and audience from attending hearing as part of effort to slow down the spread of the Coronavirus epidemic.
Russia currently has 147 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus pandemic, without any death as at March 18, 2020. Representative of the courts told Rapsi that the restriction is set for those who are not a party to a trial until April 10.

The Russian courts have also made provision to enable journalists report the proceding.
According to Rapsi, court spokespersons are required to promptly submit information on trials to journalists in addition to online translations of the most important hearings.
On March 18, the Supreme Court’s Presidium ordered prohibition of visitors’ attendance to courts as a result of the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The United States currently has 9, 415 confirmed cases with 150 deaths as healthcare officials complained of inadequate supplies of test kits and protective materials. China has reported 81, 238 cases with 3,250 deaths. Italy has reported, 35, 731 cases with 2,978 deaths.
