Coronavirus cases now 8 in Nigeria
The Federal Ministry of Health has said that 5 new cases of the Coronavirus pandemic have been confirmed in Nigeria in the last 36 hours, bringing the total number of those with the pandemic to 8.

ABUJA, Nigeria – The Federal Ministry of Health has said that 5 new cases of the Coronavirus pandemic have been confirmed in Nigeria in the last 36 hours, bringing the total number of those with the pandemic to 8.

An official of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire made the disclosure at a press briefing in Abuja.

According to him to him, out of the 5 new positive cases, 3 arrived from the United States, while 2 came in from the United Kingdom.

“We are still collating information on the travellers”, he said, adding that 2 of the 3 people that tested positive to Coronavirus are from the US are Nigerians, a mother and a six weeks old child.

He said the 6 weeks old baby remains the youngest patient with Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

He identified the 3rd as an American national , who crossed the land border into Nigeria and became the first COVID-19 case not arriving by air.

“The 2 cases from the UK are Nigerian.”
