ONITSHA, Nigeria – Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has promised to donate 600 double bunk beds, 1200 mattresses and 3000 modern conference chairs to equip the newly constructed National Youth Service Corps (NYSC),Orientation Camp in Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Akwa South local government area of the state.
Obiano made the promise on Wednesday when the state NYSC Coordinator Mr.Aremu Kehinde and his manegment team paid a courtesy call on the Governor, at state government Lodge Amawbia, Awka.
The Governor who expressed satisfaction over the level of work done at the new secretariat construction site through communal effort of NYSC, promised to support the project and ensure its completion before the end of his tenure.
According to the Governor, the newly constructed Permanent Orientation camp would be completed before the 2020 Batch ‘ A ‘ Orientation programme.
He stated that he would use the occasion of the Swearing in ceremony of Batch ‘ A ‘ to officially commission the camp.
Earlier in his address, Aremu said they embarked on the visit to express their gratitude to the governor for the many welfare and good things he has been doing to the scheme, especially for making life comfortable for corps members and staff.
He enumerated some of the gestures to includes construction of a new orientation camp, relocating the secretariat to a new site and paying regular monthly allowances to corps members .
