RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – The authorities in Saudi Arabia have suspended further issuance of visa for Muslims who will be visiting to perform the Umrah. Saudi Arabia said the step was taken to prevent the arrival of the Coronavirus, COVID-19 into the Kingdom.

Apart from suspending issuance of visa for the purpose of Umrah, the authority also suspended issuance of tourist visa for those coming from country for which the Coronavirus(COVID-19) is prevalent.

It also suspended the use by Saudi Nationals and citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council states of the national identity card to travel to and from the Kingdom, but for Saudis who are abroad if their exit from the Kingdom is by national identity cards and citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council states who are currently in the Kingdom and which to return to their countries, in case their entry was with the national identity cards.

The authorities said the measures are temporal and subject under review by relevant authorities on COVID-19
