ABUJA, Nigeria – The Supreme Court of Nigeria today affirmed the election of Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri as the governor of Adamawa State as well as that of Samuel Ortom as governor of Benue State.
The 7 member panel of the Supreme Court led by Justice Olabode Rhodes-Vivour, were unanimous in dismissing the appeals by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last governorship election in respect of Adamawa State,
Justice Dattijo Mohammed, who read the lead judgment held that the appellants failed to prove their case.
In the case of Benue, the 7-man panel led by Justice Bode Rhodes Vivour held that the appeal by Emmanuel Jime and the All Progressives Congress was lacking in merit, adding that Samuel Ortom was the duly elected governor of Benue State.
