KHAMENEI, Iran – Iranian Parliament today approved resolution designating the US army and Pentagon as terrorist organisations. The Iranian Parliament passed the resolution just a day after the Iraqi Parliament passed a vote to expel US army from Iraq,

The designation of US congress and Pentagon as terrorist organisations has been seen by analyst as preparatory for a grand military action against US interests in the region.

According to Fouad Izadi of the University of Tehran, the designation will now lay the legitimate ground for attack on US interests in the region”.

President of Iran, Dr. Hassan Rouhani described the Iraqi parliament’s move to expel US troops from Iraq as important and a beginning for greater stability and security in the region.

“There is no doubt that the blood of great generals of Resistance will cause new developments in the region and act as a factor for deeper bonds between the two nations”, Rouhani said.

The Iran resolution came on a day that the largest funeral procession was held in Khemenei, where General Quassem Soleimani who was assassinated last week by the United State in Bagdad, Iraq was to be buried.

According to reports at least 35 people where killed in the resulting stampeede while over 100 others were injured forcing the Iranian government to postpone the burial ceremony earlier scheduled for today.

According to Aljazeera, the stampede occured as people surged towards the vehicle conveying the coffin of Quassem Soleimani to touch the coffin.

Speaking after being denied VISA to the United Nations, Iranian Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr. Mohammad Javad Zarif described assassination of Quassem Soleimani as criminal and an act of terrorism against the state. He said Iran will respond at the appropriate time but not in a hurry, adding that the incident was an act of war against senior state official.

Meanwhile images of Soleimani have surfaced all over Iran as the funeral procession entered it third day with many calling for revenge against the United States.
