LAGOS, Oba Akinjobi Way, Ikeja GRA, Lagos is currently locked down. Traffic is now at standstill as physically challenged people numbering over 20 led by Patrick Arueze have blocked the highway right in front of the Lagos State High Court.

Their demand is payment of N8.9million judgement sum that Patrick Arueze secured against the now morribund musical group, PSquare. He had organised a show in Benin City featuring PSquare, but the group failed to show up, forcing fans to go on rampage breaking everything within reach.

Oba Akinjobi, GRA now

Patrick Arueze secured judgement presided over by Justice Kazeem Alogba in 2016 and the money deposited into the coffers of the Lagos State Judiciary. But since the judgment was pronounced and the money paid, the Chief Justice, had refused to give him the money.

He then organised the protest to press home their demand for the Chief Justice of Lagos State, Justice Kazeem Alogba, to give them the judgement sum deposited with the Lagos State Judiciary.

The protest started in front of the office of the CJ but they were chased away out of the court premises. In annoyance, they have barricaded the highway sitting down on bare floor waiting for the CJ to address them.

So far, the CJ is yet to come out to address them. Details later.
