LAGOS, Nigeria – Nigeria’s musical prodigy, Azeez Fashola better known as Naira Marley is now a free man. This is because the case of car  theft slammed on him and his brothers by the Nigeria Police Force has been struck out.

Naira Marley was slammed with 4r-count charge of conspiracy, stealing, assault and got d obstructing the police from performing their lawful duty.

Chief Magistrate Tajudeen Elias who presided over the case struck out the suit after receiving  terms of settlement between the complainant, Mr Adelekan Ademola and the four defendants.

Recall that Marley and his two brothers Idris Fashola, 18; Babatunde Fashola, 24; and their cousin, Kunle Obere, 22, who are defendants in the suit and were arraigned on December16, 2019. However, Naira Marley was absent  during the trial, forcing the magistrate to compel the police to ensure that he appears today.

During the proceedings, the defendants had pleaded not guilty  and subsequently granted bail in the sum of N500,000 each with two sureties in like sum before adjourning further proceedings till  December 31st 2019. The magistrate had also ordered the Investigative Police Office (IPO) to produce Marley in court.

Naira Marley again failed to show up  when the matter came up in December 31, 2019  forcing Magistrate Elias to order his appearance in court on the next adjourned date of January 14, 2020.

During the hearing today, Naira Marley was not in court except the other defendants.

Naira Marley reportedly got out of a scene at the Eko Hotel and Suite with the vehicle of the defendant and the  vehicle, which had a tracker was allegedly traced to the home of Naira Marley.
