LAGOS, Nigeria – Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti has made his debut on film. Seun Kuti who had restricted himself to the musical scene for years has reached out to the film industry.
Seun Kuti is making his debut in Citation, a film produced by one of the most celebrated filmmakers in Nigeria, Kunle Afolayan.
The Afrobeat singer who made the announcement on the social media said said the film, showing at Obafemi Awolowo University, will also feature a free concert. He will be the star of the concert.
“Today I make my big screen debut in my Egbon @kunleafo new movie #citation and to top it off it’s at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University and it will be a free concert from 6pm. Let’s all be in the movie Biko everyone come thru!! #getthesax”, Seun Kuti sait.
Kunle Afolayan is a multiple award wining actor and filmmaker. Born 30th September, 1974, he has directed a number of films, among which is Figurine and Phone Swap, Irapada, October 1 and The CEO.
