PORT HARCOURT, Rivers, Nigeria – The Management of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has uncovered a series of fraudulent activities by faceless and dubious individuals bent on hood winking the general public and thereby bringing the Commission to disrepute.
The NDDC Acting Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Joi Nunieh, has been at the receiving end of an orchestrated campaign of deceit and calumny.
The Niger Delta foremost interventionist agency stated emphatically that Dr Nunieh does not operate a Facebook account, noting that the enormous responsibility entrusted to her, does not permit for any social luxury at this time. The statement warned that any one relating with Gbene Dr Joi Nunieh on Facebook does so at a colossal risk.
It further adds that neither the Commission nor the person of the Acting MD/CEO has solicited for payment of any kind as a condition for an imminent empowerment of Ogoni women.
The NDDC advised those who have already fallen victim to the fraudsters to cross check facts with the Commission Official website in future circumstances.
The statement noted with sadness that a score of young women were also deceived into parting with the sum of N3, 500 for a non-existing usher’s job by the Commission at the Hotel Presidential, Port Harcourt.
The Commission frowns at these untoward developments at the time efforts are being aggregated by the Interim Management Committee to superintend a forensic auditing and charting a pathway of corporate renaissance.
