IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – At last the age-long rift between R&B crooner, Tuface(Innocent Idibia), his manager, Efe Omorogbe and Augustine Ahmedu(Blackface) over allegation of copyright theft of the musical lyrics “Let somebody Love You”, has been resolved amicably at the Lagos State Multidoor out of court settlement.
Recall that www.starconnectmedia.com exclusively reported in October that the parties in the N53 million suit filed by Tuface and his manager against Blackface have resolved to settle out of court.
Blackface had claimed to have written’Let Somebody Love You’, released by Tuface while both were in the now defunct Platashun Boyz, an allegation that was refuted severally by Tuface and his manager Efe Omorogbe.
When Blackface persisted in the allegation, Tuface and Omorogbe approached a Lagos High Court where they filed the N53 million suit against Blackface for defamation of character. The matter was brought before Justice Josephine Oyefesor who referred the matter for out of court settlement.
Parties resolved the impasse on Wednesday at the Lagos High Court, during which Blackface decided to issue a statement retracting all the allegations he raised against Tuface.
In the statement, Blackface said Tuface(Innocent Idibia) did not steal his song as alleged. He said he lied when he said that Tuface stole his copyright work.
Managers of Blackface and Tuface Idibia were at the court where the dispute was resolved and they have decided to issue a statement today to that effect.
Blackface also hinted of he and Tuface Idibia collaborating to release an album, putting all their differences behind.
