DOVER, United States – Long distance swimmer, Sarah Thomas, an American has become the first woman to swim across the English Channel 4 times without stopping. Sarah Thomas, 37 swam across the dangerous ocean in a record 54 hours.
She swam to and fro Dover and Calais, a distance of about 215 kilometres non stop. Sarah Thomas, who survived breast cancer in the past is also the first woman in history to officiate an NPFL playoff game.

Sarah Thomas set off just after midnight on Sunday, swimming night and day for more than 54 hours. It was not an easy task, battling exhaustion and high currents for about 84 miles.
She arrived Shakespeare beach in Dover at 6.30 Tuesday morning with her support crew consisting of her husband, mother and three friends.⠀
Sarah Thomas has dedicated the feat to breast cancer survivors. She completed her treatment in 2018. #sarahthomas
