AWKA, Anambra, Nigeria – The chairman of Johnbosco Onunkwo Foundation, chief Johnbosco Onunkwo has said that his foundation is to put similes on the peoples’ faces.
Onunkwo who spoke in Awka, Anambra state capital at the foundation laying ceremony of Premium Tennis Court for City Sport Club, Amawbia, said he learnt the password of putting similes on the peoples’ faces through God’s words.
“My password is to make people happy and by so doing , God has been blessing me so bountiful” he said. He said, he loves helping painfully so that he reaps bountifully from God. According to him,his foundation is designed and geared towards helping people and making them to appreciate the goodness of God on earth.
“I have a foundation called Johnbosco Onunkwo foundation. It is hydra headed. I mean, it is into many things like scholarships to indigent students, free medical treatment, empowerment and capacity building and others to make people happy. My free medical treatment team is right now going round all part of Anambra attending to the health needs of people in the rural areas.
“When I came here last time, I saw old people in their 70s and 80s looking 40s. I saw they are happy after playing the tennis, I thought I could help to build a premium court so that more people will join them,for more excercise, live healthy and better life because sporting activities prolong life span. I assured them this court will be completed before the end of the year so that more people will join them” he said.
He also stated that with premium court, younger people could also be attracted to join the club and become professional tennis players and take to tennis as a profession.
According to him, his major cardinal point was to help people, building the tennis court will also assist many to find their potentials in life and become great.
“I am a rotarian, from the day I attained the age of reasoning,I thought the best thing is to be helping people. You cannot see God but you see God through the person that helps you. I have learnt from God to do good all times and avoid evil . And, it is my password to help people, which I learnt from God’s words” he stated.
