IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) on Thursday arraigned Ayowale Peters Oloje, aka James Williams for N1.279 billion crypto currency trading fraud.
Oloje Ayowale Peters, aka James Williams was arraigned along with his company, VALBORG-SELMA Ltd on two count charge bothering on fraud.
Oloje Ayowale Peters aka James Williams who was arraigned before a Lagos vacation judge, Justice Hakeem Oshodi pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
His counsel had pleaded that Oloje Ayowale Peters be remanded in EFCC custody pending when bail application will he heard. But counsel to the EFCC, E. S Okon told the court that EFCC facility is not a prison but a temporary detention facility, adding that Peters should be remanded in prison.
Justice Hakeem Oshodi ordered that he be remanded in Kirikiri Prison until October 10, 2019 when his bail application will be heard. His lawyer had shortly after his arraignment moved oral application for bail, noting that his client had been granted administrative bail by the EFCC but his request was turned down by the judge.
Writing on why people buy cryptocurrency on his Facebook page, Oloje Peters Ayowale said You don’t have to understand bitcoin to realize that banks, businesses, the bold, and the brash are cashing in on cryptocurrency.

It doesn’t take an economics degree to know that the folks who invested in bitcoin a few years ago are now patting themselves on the back—but the good news is, it’s not too late to get in the game. Knowledge of the game is very important. Save yourself valuable time guess walking”, he wrote.
